Public Policy The Village of Downers Grove has developed important
Council Policies concerning a wide range of municipal activities that are now conveniently available online. The Village of Downers Grove has received repeated recommendations for greater protection of mature trees during construction activities, including detailed recommendations by the Village staff in March 2005. In May 2005, the Village Council took steps to strengthen protection for publicly owned, parkway trees. Subsequently the Village Council delayed indefinitely any action to give protection to privately owned trees during construction activities.
